I am a Charlotte native and a CMS graduate. I attended Winterfield Elementary School, Tryon Hills Elementary School, Piedmont Middle School, and East Mecklenburg High School. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Social Studies- Secondary Education and Elementary Education. I have a Master of Arts degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
I taught in the Raleigh area for two years before beginning my career with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I was part of the original faculty that opened Butler High School in 1997 and I have been teaching at Butler ever since with the exception of a couple years that I stayed at home after my second son was born. I love being a Butler Bulldog, and am proud to teach with the finest teachers around. I currently teach Civics and Economics in the Department of History. I'm the faculty advisor for the BHS Young Democrats. I'm married to Christopher Mair, a software craftsman for Wells Fargo. We're the parents of two sons, ages 15 and 13. Matthew attends East Mecklenburg High and Jackson attends Randolph Middle. We also have a Cockapoo named Maggie. In my spare time, I love to read. You almost never see me without a book. If you're interested in seeing what I'm currently reading- follow me on Goodreads. I'd love to discuss books with you. I enjoy following politics and tweeting about current events and Butler news. You can follow me on Twitter @historymosley. I like being a citizen archivist by transcribing historical documents for digital archive collections. I'm also an advocate for the deaf. My sons are deaf and advocating for them and other people who are deaf or hard of hearing is something I'm very passionate about. |
